HOW LANGUAGE AND MOVING IMAGES SHAPED MY JOURNEY
As cliché as it may sounds, moving images and languages have impacted me since I was a child. One of my earliest memories is that of watching the TV series Dallas and being capable of telling my mother everything that had happened in the previous episode, although I did not know how to read. This was actually how I learned English and, one could say, the moment I became a cinephile.
My passion for English stayed with me from that moment on, therefore I attended a bilingual English-French high-school and later on, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Bucharest. I started my career in 2010 in language development and slowly making the transition towards translating.
My subtitling “break-through” was in 2015 and since then I am translating content for major VOD platforms and theatrical runs, creating and timing subtitles, quality control and contribuiting to style guides. My portofolio includes over 200 translated and QCed titles.
